Halo will be available on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Not the games (which are already available on the service), but Halo: The Series, the new live-action Paramount Plus adaptation of the sci-fi shooter, which premieres on March 24th.
To ensure that Game Pass Ultimate users don’t miss out on the latest edition in the franchise, Microsoft is offering consumers a free 30-day access to Paramount Plus beginning March 23rd (a day before the program premieres) so that they may be ready to tune in the following day.
Halo (the TV program) is theoretically set in a distinct continuity than the previous Halo video games, books, and other Halo content. The show takes place in a new “Silver Timeline,” which allows it to portray a little different version of the classic Halo story without being constrained by the weight of years of canon that has gone before.
The free trial also only gets Game Pass Ultimate users through the first five episodes of the nine-episode season, so fans who want to finish the battle series will have to pay for another month of Paramount Plus (which is almost certainly the intention here).
Still, if you’re a Game Pass Ultimate member who’s also a Halo fan interested in checking out the new program — which is definitely the case for a large number of customers — it’s a pleasant extra perk.
